What matters more for having a good life: IQ or EQ?

Just because someone has a high IQ, it doesn’t necessarily mean they will succeed in life, because having a high IQ wont get you far if no one likes you well enough to help you. I was speaking to a wise person and he said that being socially accepted and being a decent human being will get you much further than having a large brain and getting good SAT scores. What are your thoughts on this?

  1. My IQ is about 105 slightly above average but I do believe in the validity of IQ tests. They measure our ability to pick up and understand new concepts. High IQ means fast understanding and some subjects can only be understood with a high IQ.
There is a tendancy today to assume anyone can do anything by application. I don’t think I could have become an atomic physist.
IQ definitely does not define moral character or general satisfaction with life.
